The Elstead Marathon has a glorious history, dating back to 1912, of combining endeavour, fun and community spirit.

Each year, the marathon continues to be a great success, come rain or shine. Around 600 runners and hundreds of spectators attend on the night, which recently saw our famous river crossing reinstated thanks to the hard work and persistence of our organising committee. Many runners declare their support for what is a local institution, not just in Elstead but for runners much further afield.

This event creates an excellent opportunity for community focused businesses to engage their Corporate Social Responsibility and Marketing strategies as a key sponsor for this very special Marathon.

Our children and young people need the opportunities and skills that Elstead Scouting provides more than ever, and we are committed to making the Elstead Marathon a wonderful success in raising funds to enable a rich and exciting programme of experiences and opportunities for our young people in the local community.​
